Hope you all are safe and well!!When we say India, we get this image of Family, Values, diverse Culture and so much more.... Since this is one item which is in almost every family, I thought of preparing it with my family as well....
This mango pickle was made by my pappa (father) and me together, you can hear him here 👇👇 Do watch this full video to see how we made pickle together...
FOR THIS RECIPE YOU WILL NEED:
Raw Mangoes – 1 kg
Salt – 150 gms
Mustard Seeds (half crushed) – 100 gms
Red Chilli Powder – 150 to 170 gms
Turmeric Powder – 5 gms
Asafoetida – 25 gms
Fenugreek Seeds (half crushed) – 25 gms
Oil (HOT) – 450 to 600 gms as required
PROCEDURE:
Take raw mangoes and cut them into your desired size and keep it aside to dry for about 2 hrs.
2 hrs later, take the same dried mangoes (we need not dry it completely) and add salt in it and mix properly and keep it aside.Meanwhile make the masala, in a big vessel add Mustard Seeds(half crushed), Red Chilli Powder, Turmeric powder, Asafoetida, Fenugreek Seeds(half crushed) and mix properly.
Now add hot oil in the masala and quickly and carefully mix it properly.
Once done, add raw mango and salt
mixture that we made earlier and give it a good mix.
Once it cools down, store it in a Glass Jar or a Porcelain Jar (चिनी मटचि बरणी) ONLY.
And our Mango Pickle is ready.For good life of pickle, make sure to mix it at least twice a week……
